Professionals in the modern world claim that they don’t have enough time to go to the gym to work-out, or even spare an hour or so to jog early in morning. However, you don’t really need to go to the gym to exercise, or jog early in the morning to keep yourself physically fit. With just a few minutes to spare in your working hours, or a little change in your work routine, you can squeeze in a few activities to help you keep yourself fit and healthy.

If you drive yourself to work every day, try to park your car a block or two away from your office. Walk all the way to the office, and try to use the stairs if you can. Walking is still one of the best and the cheapest exercise that you can do every single day. According to research, walking 30 minutes a day lengthens your life span by 1.3 years. Walking can lower your risk of Type 2 diabetes, cancer, heart disease and sleep apnea.

While in the office, take time to make side stretches. Slowly lean over to each side as far as you can while seated on your office chair. By performing this simple office exercise, you can carve your waist and keep your spine flexible and aligned.

Another great exercise you can do while seated on your office chair is the body-lifting exercise. Just place your hands on the arms of your chair and lift your body. Do this exercise as often as you want. This is a very simple yet powerful exercise that you can do without even taking your eyes off the computer monitor if you’re just too busy to look away.

If you want to have a healthy lifestyle, you have to move around, or stretch even just in-between your working hours. Of course, being healthy is not just about exercise – it’s also about your diet! Watch your diet and eat healthy as possible.
