2010 ended with a bang for the Philippines call center industry, winning the number one spot as the world’s leader in business process outsourcing (BPO). And the momentum keeps going strong with the recent study published last week by Grant Thornton International Business Report (IBR), ranking the country at the 3rd spot as the most optimistic in the economy.

Call Center In The PhilippinesThe Philippines recorded 87% of foreign and local investors expressing their confidence about business prospects for 2011 in the country. The top-notcher Chile got 95% optimism and followed by India with 93 percent.

This certainly bodes well to offshore outsourcing call center services in the Philippines, which is also gaining at a fast pace since last year. The report is also expected to jumpstart the outbound call services industry.

The IBR organization, along with its local affiliate Punongbayan & Araullo, conducted the study and surveyed the opinions of medium to large private business owners.

Backed by high GDP growth rate

Some people may invalidate the study by IBR, according to a top CEO, as the Filipinos are known for its positive thinking outlook. But this may not be the case this year as the Philippines has scored 7.3% GDP (gross domestic product) growth in 2010. A new record that simply backed the IBR rankings.

In addition, similar study and results was also released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, attributing the high records to the confidence of the people the new government administration.
